This development was for Suffolk Coastal District Council who required an Microsoft Access system to record applications and the installation of Household Boiler systems. The system consists of two main screens selected from a main menu. The first screen, Householder details, captures information returned on the application form. The second data entry screen allows the tracking of the application, detailing dates where specific points in the process occur. This enables targets to be monitored, e.g. Date from notifying supplier for estimate to estimate to appear. There are two other screens which allow selection of reports and the ability to amend the lookup data. The access database is split into two parts. The front-end access database contains all the forms and reports and has links to the backend database which contains all the data. The backend database is usually put on a server computer allowing a number of users to access the same data.
